Certifications, Designations, and Professionalism
The Importance of ASME/NBBI Certifications
PWC Industries strives to offer the highest quality fabrication by seeking certifications and designations relevant to the steel engineering industry. As a result, we belong to organizations that audit and inspect for safety and compliance of our fabrication and repair work for ASME boilers and pressure vessels. Stringent safeguards and quality work is absolutely essential in manufacture and repair of pressure vessels. In the hands of inexperienced shops of those lacking the proper credentials, pressure vessels can prove to be dangerous components in chemical, petroleum, and other processes. Make sure that your steel fabrication shop is certified to manufacture pressure vessels consistent with guidelines set by the
American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) or
National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors (NBBI).
ASME Code Certified Stamping
When employing an ASME certified steel fabrication shop, you can be confident that the fabrication of your pressure vessel or other steel structure follows strict guidelines in producing quality and safe vessels. Companies with their ASME designation pay a fee to have their shops' fabricated steel structures monitored for safety and quality ensuring that the highest level of professionalism is maintained.
PWC Industries maintains both the "S" and the "U" certifications through the ASME.

Under the ASME's Pressure Vessel Code Section VIII Division I for unfired pressure vessels, the "U" stamp assures that the vessel has been inspected per the requirements. The certificate is available for each ASME stamped vessel upon request.
The "S" designation is available for power boilers, vaporizers, and process piping where temperatures exceed 250 degrees or pressures are greater than 15 p.s.i. steam or 160 p.s.i. water.
NBBI Repair Designation
The "R" stamp for repair and alterations of unfired pressure vessels is a designation received by the National Board of Boilers and Pressure Vessel Inspectors. If PWC Industries performs boiler or pressure vessel repairs on non-stamped pieces, the "R" stamp indicates a level of inspection that assures a quality and safe vessel repair has been completed.
